Golf Society La Noria Golf La Cala De Mijas

The Swingers and Hookers golf society was founded in 2019. Several members of the Walking Dead football club who were also golfers decided it would be good to have a golf day and perhaps form a little golf society within the football club. The golf society, not surprisingly, was going to be called The Walking Dead Golfers. Unfortunately the chairman, and founder of the football club became very protective of the Walking Dead name and blocked the use of it for the golfing group. After a brainstorming session, one of the football/golfers came up with the moniker “Swingers and Hookers” so the society was born.

The first ever S&H game took place at Miraflores golf club, with 12 players taking part over an 18 Stableford Competition. A few months and a few games later 6 or 7 of the regular footballing golfers began playing a regular weekly game at La Noria club in La Cala. Within a year 5 or 6 society members were club members at La Noria playing twice per week over 9 holes and still organising a regular away day on a bigger 18 hole course.

The Swingers and Hookers now have over 70 members, play 3 days per week at our La Noria base, organise regular away days and host a range of competitions throughout the year. We have our own brand of golf shirts featuring the society logo. Over the time of the Society we have lost three members, Ray Parsons (one of the original 12), John Brownand Colin Parkinson .

The Swingers and Hookers was founded by Malcolm Foulis and Darren Canty. Members who have played an organising role for the group are Scott Cousins, Eddie Lloyd, Del Robertson, Paul Weeks, Jens Felldin and Ged Mitchell.
