One Society, One Spirit – Golf for Friendship and Growth
- We are a friendly society built on friendship, fun and like-minded people.
- Fairness, respect and development of our golf game are key principles – not winning.
- We are one group of people and will not divide or fracture to accommodate any personal desires.
- It has to be fun, or what's the point?
- The rules and handicap system is there to balance the field and ensure everyone has a chance and no one is disadvantaged or left behind.
- We develop this as we move forward to ensure no one dominates or receives unfair advantage.
- We stand by the principle that it's nice to win, but it is not the dominant feature of our gatherings – self improvement and friendship is the key.
- We are open to all comments and suggestions from members – with the caveat being that "changes improve the society and everyone in it".
Rules of
Swingers & Hookers
- Balls in divots or dirty – can be moved / cleaned.
- Balls in bunkers – sand can be raked and ball replaced on it.
- Balls in 'red' penalty areas – 1 shot penalty drop where ball has entered, no nearer the hole and 2 club lengths. You may play your ball from within a red penalty area, provided you do not ground your club or move any loose impediments, without incurring a penalty stroke.
- Blue penalty areas = free drop (Max. 1 club length).
- Ball may have gone out of bounds – reload and play a provisional. When playing a provisional ball, you must clearly announce it to your fellow players and use a distinct marking to avoid confusion with your original ball.
- Damaged greens – you can move the ball away from the bad area, no nearer to the hole.
- Mark your own ball, so we know it's yours.
"That's the basics... none of us are Scotty Scheffler, so let's just enjoy our game and play as best we can👍"
⛳️ No one comes to golf 'not' to have fun 🤷🏻♂️
